Greetings from Ms. Kovacevich's Kindergarten class!

While students at Our Lady's Academy were preparing to begin a new school year, many schools in the south were dealing with tragedy as a result of hurricanes. Floods from Hurricane Harvey's rains (read about this record breaker) completely devastated some areas in Texas. Many teachers and students in this area lost everything, including school supplies and teaching resources. Ms. K's Kindergarten class decided to put the school's mission into action and adopted a kindergarten class in the Houston area.

Greetings from 3A and 3B! We have been busily working on finishing up our end-of-year academics and activities. Boy, how time flies! The Fractured Fairy Tales that students just finished required them to choose their favorite classic fairy tale and fracture or change it up a bit to make it their own. A few titles we have this year from the students are Cinderninja, The Three Little Staplers and the Big Red Scissor, and GoldiSOX.

We are hard at work learning the fundamentals of communication and interaction. January has been a busy and productive month. Our theme this past month was Our Neighborhood. The guidance office has been very busy, as the fall and winter is a time for our 8th grade students and their families to learn about and make decisions about where they will go to high school after they leave Our Lady's Academy. During the fall months, staff from many private and parochial schools come to visit our 8th grade classrooms and talk to our students about their schools. In some cases, the high schools bring Our Lady's Academy alumni who now attend these schools. It is a thrill for teachers and staff to see our former students coming back to talk about their new high school experiences. The schools that came to visit Our Lady's Academy this year have included:
