Our Lady’s Academy is a very busy school community that relies on the help and support of many volunteers. There are several parent groups -- the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), the School Consultative Board (SCB), the Bingo Committee, and the Marketing Committee -- that promote and run fundraising events, social events, and student enrichment. To coordinate the efforts of all of these groups, every August the PTO puts together a packet of information about all of the events and activities that require volunteers throughout the year. List of Events and Activities to Volunteer for
and Receive Service Hours
Each family at Our Lady's Academy must volunteer at least 25 service hours a year to be eligible for the service tuition discount. Of the 25 service hours, 10 hours must be directly related to marketing or fundraising activities.
To help you decide which events and activities you'd like to volunteer for, we have put together a list of all of the 2011-2012 social events and fundraising activities that are planned for this year, along with a description of each event, volunteers needed, and notes about acceptable service hours and the type of service hours involved with each activity.

Service Hours Logsheets
To record your service hours and get credit for them, you need to fill out these Service Hours Logsheets and submit them to Mrs. Minor at the end of November, January, and April.
All families are required to participate in Bingo and usual Bingo duties do not count towards service hours.

Virtus Training and CORI Check
|
Virtus Training
As required by the Archdiocese of Boston, all volunteers who work with children need to complete the Virtus Training program before they begin their volunteer work. Virtus Training will be offered at Our Lady’s at the beginning of the school year. If you did not complete this training last year, you can sign up by contacting Sharon Micco in the Parish Office at 781-894-3481 x 2.
You do not need to attend this training every year.
CORI Check
A CORI check must be done annually for each family member who will work with children. The CORI form must be filled out for each adult volunteer and returned to the School Office with a copy of photo ID attached. CORI forms are available at the School Office.
