Nurses
Christine Forcier
Hello, my name is Christine Forcier , one of your school nurses. I typically work Thursday and Friday.
I have been married for 36 years , have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. All my children are grown with the last one in college. We summer on Cape Cod and we enjoy boating . I am an avid gardener as well.
I studied Nursing at Malden Hospital School of Nursing, receiving my diploma in 1981. I have practiced school nursing for approximately 8 years now. Previously I was an Operating Room/PACU nurse.
I enjoy children and find School Nursing rewarding. The health needs of students can run the gamut from serious chronic illnesses to needing reassurance for school worries and concerns. Although encounters can be brief, nurses are trained to assess the whole person and be a listening ear for patient’s concerns.
My hope is to establish relationships with the students where they can feel comfortable asking questions about their health and concerns.
Nurses are advocates first and foremost.
Paula Murphy
I attended UMass Boston and received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a minor in Biology. I also hold a National board Certification in the school of nursing.. I have experience in nursing surgery, visiting nurse and have been a school nurse for twenty years.
I am married with three children. I have a particular fondness for PBS, Nova Programs, ferrets and dogs.
I hope for my students to be patient and keep trying as they grow and become more compassionate. I hope for them to make the world a better place while choosing to do their favorite things.
